NOrthside 2027 receives HUD NRSA designation!

The Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA) designation proposed by the City of Bethlehem’s Department of Community and Economic Development has received approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support community revitalization efforts. NRSA designation creates greater flexibility in the use of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding allowing the City to target resources in a defined area. The creation of this designation was a comprehensive process that included close collaboration with local residents and community organizations. The City intends to target its CDBG funds on projects and activities in the NRSA area to strengthen vital services, improve housing and economic development, and increase the quality of life for residents and families. This designation supports the City’s planning efforts to strategically and effectively allocate its resources with the needs of the NS 2027 neighborhood.
