NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED
This position assists residents and clients with handling of recyclable materials and monitors placement of recyclable items in the proper containers.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Politely assists residents and clients to ensure proper recycling procedures adhered to; removes incorrectly placed items from containers and moves to correct container; maintains a professional appearance and work area; educates residents and clients of what recyclables are acceptable at Center; safely operates compactors, shredder, baler and any other equipment used on site, as required; adheres to and enforces current Recycling Center Policies and Procedures; sells recycling containers, lids and bags as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with a wide variety of persons and groups. Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions (snow, rain, heat & cold) andable to lift or handle boxes/bags/materials of up to 50 pounds if necessary. Must be able to assist in snow removal activities when necessary.

NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED
This position operates motorized equipment and performs semi-skilled manual tasks in the maintenance of water and sewer lines and supporting facilities.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks to construct, maintain and operate water and sewer lines, reservoirs, pump stations and all other related facilities. Utilizes all types of water and sewer maintenance filed equipment to perform tasks (includes various motor vehicles such as trucks, sewer rodding machine, flusher, and similar maintenance or construction equipment). Repairs/maintains mechanical and pumping equipment. Repairs pavements, manholes, culverts, and all other concrete/brick structures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate a laptop/desktop computer; ability to analyze water samples in the field utilizing a hand-held chlorine analyzer; ability to operate leak detection equipment; demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness; ability to climb ladders, safely enter underground structures, bend, stoop, climb, twist, walk, stand for long periods of time and work in inclement weather.

Recycling Center Supervisor

NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising daily operations of the Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center and its employees.  This position reports directly to the Director of Recycling.
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Manages employee schedules, including informing Recycling office of schedule changes, resolving scheduling issues, and maintaining staffing levels; collects money from residents/customers and submits funds to Recycling office; manages workload and completion of assignments; open, closes and secures Recycling Center; follows and enforces Recycling Center policies and procedures; promotes a safe work environment by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times; assists residents/customers with drop off of materials to proper locations; completes required paperwork; informs Recycling office of all issues; safely operates compactors, shredder, baler and any other equipment used on site; completes, collects and submits personnel payroll forms; distributes informational flyers/performs; trains new employees; sells recycling containers, lids and bags.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
