The Economic Development Bureau aims to cultivate a thriving, inclusive economic environment. Boasting two downtowns with distinctive characters, Bethlehem has overcome the loss of Bethlehem Steel through strong leadership, industry diversification, and effective federal, state, and local resource implementation.
The bureau works within the department to plan and administer incentive zone programs, secure and distribute grant funding, and collaborate with regional partners to promote tourism, entrepreneurship, and development projects. Staff also provide support to the Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation (BEDCO), the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Bethlehem (RDA), and the Bethlehem Revitalization & Improvement Authority (BRIA).
Our team can provide premium economic datasets to help you understand the local market, connect you with our downtown organizations and neighborhood programs, and assist in accessing state and local incentives that may be available to support your growth. We look forward to discussing why Bethlehem is such a great place to call home.
