Community & Economic Development

  • The City of Bethlehem's Department of Community and Economic Development operates various bureaus that impact the City’s quality of life and building conditions. Those bureaus are: Code Enforcement, Community Development, Planning and Zoning, Recycling and Housing Inspections.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all planning applications, zoning hearing board appeals and Certificates of Appropriateness/Historic Board applications are strongly encouraged to submit the waiver below of timeliness for review to protect the applicant, the Board Members, City officials and members of the public from the risk of COVID-19 exposure.

    Attention Bethlehem Businesses
The City wants to find out the impacts that COVID has placed on local businesses. Your response will directly determine how the City will allocate its federal relief funds. Thank you for taking the VERY BRIEF survey!

Winter Curbside, Pickup, and Delivery Publication
The City of Bethlehem is putting together a “Winter Curbside, Pickup, and Delivery” publication that will be directly mailed to city residents.  This is an ideal opportunity for restaurants and retailers to communicate their curbside/takeout/delivery options to 33,000 households in Bethlehem.  It is anticipated that the publication will be in homes at the beginning of January.   Use this link for an outline of the publication and instruction on how to participate.
