The Earl E. Schaffer Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink , the Lehigh Valley's only outdoor Olympic sized rink, is located at 345 Illick's Mill Road and is open from November through March, weather permitting. We offer private rink rental, skating lessons, stick time, and public skate sessions, which includes an adaptive skate session for those with special needs. Season passes are also available and include admission to public and adaptive skate sessions ONLY. Stick time sessions are NOT included. The rink will open for hockey rentals on Monday, October 16th. See below for start dates for our additional programming.

Adaptive Skate
We welcome all who have adaptive needs to come skate in a safe and low sensory environment.

Season Passes
Season passes will go on sale in September and will be available to be purchased online or in person at the recreation office Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm. Season passes include unlimited admission to all public and adaptive skate sessions.
Pricing is as follows:
Youth (Ages 3-17): Resident^- $60 / Non-Resident- $85
Adult (Ages 18-61): Resident^- $70 / Non-Resident- $100
Senior (Ages 62 and over): Resident^- $60 / Non-Resident- $85

Stick Time
***Will begin on Tuesday, November 21st***
Practice shooting, skating with a stick and puck, practice hockey drills, etc. on our Olympic sized rink. Equipment is recommended and no contact is allowed.
Day/Time- Tuesday, 6-7pm
All ages-$10 per skater (NOT included with season pass)

Rink Rental
The rink is available to rent for both hockey and recreational skate sessions. The cost is $320 per hour. If you are interested in renting the rink, please contact us for more information.
Skating Lessons
Group skating lessons for ages 3 to 17 are offered at the rink for all ability levels. Our Bethlehem Skating School instructors provide a fun and safe environment while teaching the lifelong skill of skating. Stay tuned for more information on our 2023-2024 lessons.
Ice Rink Parties
Put your party on the ice. Rent our party room during one of our Saturday or Sunday afternoon public skate sessions.
Skate Sharpening
Cost- $6.00 (tax included)
Note: Walk in skate sharpening is available during public skate and stick time sessions ONLY (See hours above). Contact the recreation office to make an appointment outside of the public skate hours above.

The rink has over 1000 participants weekly, including youth and adult leagues, and public skate sessions. Annually, we have approximately 30,000 skaters and spectators walk through the doors of our facility. In addition, we host two large community events in the off season that bring thousands more into the facility.
