The Earl E. Schaffer Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink , the Lehigh Valley's only outdoor olympic sized rink, is located at 345 Illick's Mill Road and will be open for the 2020-2021 season from November through March, weather permitting.
The rink is available for rent for both hockey and recreational skate sessions. The cost is $320 per hour. Anyone interested in renting the rink should contact the Recreation office at 610-865-7081 or email@example.com for more information.
Public Skate Sessions
Due to 50% capacity restrictions, we are only allowed 230 skaters each session. Pre-registering (see below) prior to the start of the session guarantees you a spot on the ice! No refunds will be issued.
Saturday: 1-3pm; 7:30-9:30pm (CLOSED 1/30 for the LV Winter Classic)
Holiday Hours: 1-3pm (Mon, 1/18; Fri, 2/12; Mon, 2/15)
Adaptive Skate* Hours: Thursdays (beginning Jan. 28th), 5:30-6:30pm (Adaptive equipment must be provided by patron.)

BETHLEHEM RECREATION ACCOUNT
With an account, you can purchase the following services ONLINE with any major credit card with NO EXTRA FEES:
- Pre-register for all public skate sessions to save time and secure a spot on the ice due to new capacity restrictions.
- Purchase services (skate sharpening, skate rentals, etc.) prior to coming to the rink. Skate sharpening will ONLY occur during public skate sessions this season or by appointment. Appointments can be made to have skates sharpened outside of public skate hour. Contact us for details.
- Purchase gift certificates to be used for our services.
- Create and load a fund account to use for all recreation services throughout the year.
