Breastfeeding Support

Contact the BHB for help with breastfeeding support for you and your baby, questions, concerns or just to get connected to our experts. BHB provides FREE lactation help in home or through breastfeeding experts (IBCLC) in Bethlehem for mothers both prenatally and postpartum.

Breastfeeding benefits for baby include

  • Fewer illnesses including: ear & lower respiratory tract infections, stomach distress and intestinal infections, obesity, asthma & allergies, Type 2 diabetes, some childhood cancers and SIDS

Breastfeeding benefits for mother include

  • Reduced risk of breast & ovarian cancers
  • Quicker weight loss
  • Earlier mother/child bonding

The Lehigh Valley Breastfeeding Coalition

LVBC supports local hospitals to embrace the Baby-Friendly Hospital status and evidence-based practice thus improving the quality of care for Lehigh Valley mothers who choose breastfeeding as their preferred feeding method for their newborn

To create a breastfeeding friendly culture and environment among hospitals, businesses, and local leaders that will lead to sustainable change in policies focused on promoting breastfeeding support, education, and the absence of formula-based product promotion.
