Water is a fundamental constituent of life and is essential to a wide range of economic activities. The City of Bethlehem’s Sewage Enforcement Officer is responsible for ensuring the quality of all on-lot sewage disposal systems within city limits.
The Sewage Enforcement Officer:
- Issues permits for installing or repairing on-lot sewage systems
- Verifies soil/percolation tests to determine if the ground is suitable for on-lot sewage disposal
- Performs cover-up inspections when construction of on-lot sewage disposal systems are complete
