EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Provides instruction of ice skating curriculum to students between the age 3 to 17; assists parent and skaters with questions and concerns; maintain attendance and evaluation records during the season; assist with other duties as needed (handing out skates, etc.).

NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED

  • - Tracks grant portfolio for certain City Departments and Bureaus, including by preparing regular reports on grant needs, funding opportunities, pending applications, and secured grants and their status.
  • - Maintains and verifies payment records, reviews invoices, and records receipts in coordination with City Departments and Bureaus responsible for carrying out grant projects.
  • - Interacts with federal, state, and local agencies and regularly reviews, in great detail, federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure that grant projects comply with all applicable program guidelines, laws, and regulations for expenditure, funding, and accountability.
  • - Monitors federal, state, and local legislation relating to grant programs.
  • - Assists in setting short and long-range goals relating to grant funded projects for various City Departments and Bureaus.
  • - Under the direction of the City of Bethlehem Director of Community and Economic Development and the Mayor’s Office, provides primary technical and administrative support for the distribution of Community Recovery Fund grants.
  • - Provides technical assistance to Community Recovery Fund applicants regarding the application process and to Community Recovery Fund recipients regarding grant distribution, requirements, monitoring and compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, environmental engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of increasingly professional experience in the field of conservation and sustainability, preferably in the public sector.  Grant writing and project management experience preferred.

NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED
This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, facilitating, and advising the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of policies, programs, and initiatives that promote local environmental, energy, economic, and social sustainability.
