Operation A.c.T.! (Arrest Car Thieves)

Operation A.C.T.! is an auto decal registration program with the Bethlehem Police Department. Bethlehem residents electing to enroll in the program will receive a decal which will be placed in the lower left corner of the back windshield of their vehicle. By participating in the program, you certify to the Police Department that your vehicle is not normally operated between the hours of 1 AM and 5 AM.

Having the decal affixed to your automobile indicates to the police that the vehicle shouldn`t be operated by anyone between these times. So, if the police observe someone operating your vehicle. during these hours, they will know to suspect someone is in possession of your vehicle without authorization. Police observing such an incident will make an investigative stop of the vehicle.

How to register with a.c.T.!

If you are interested in registering with Operation A.C.T.!, download, print, complete and mail in the following form to the Bethlehem Police Department. The Police Department will process your request, mail you a decal, and contact you confirming your registration with A.C.T.!

withdrawing from A.c.t.!

In order to withdraw from participation in the program, you must fully remove the decal from your vehicle as well as provide written notification to the Bethlehem Police Department Crime Prevention Unit that you no longer desire to participate. Upon notifying the Police, your vehicle registration will be removed from the Department's computer files within seventy-two hours. Withdrawal from the program does not become effective until your registration is removed from the computer files. Prior to sale or transfer of your vehicle, your A.C.T! decal must be removed and written notice must be provided to the Bethlehem Police Department.

Special Considerations

Please understand that persons operating your vehicle between the hours of 1 and 5 AM, even with your consent, are subject to a police investigative stop. On these occasions, police action will include necessary precautions generally taken to protect the officers when approaching a potentially stolen vehicle.
