Notice is hereby given that the ZONING HEARING BOARD will meet in Town Hall 10 E. Church Street, Bethlehem, PA, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 7:00 PM, for the purpose of hearing the following appeals.


1. 1607 W. Union Boulevard
Appeal of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for a dimensional variance to erect a second, free standing monument sign in the W. Union Blvd. front yard, and exceed the allowable area. (Articles 1320.08.a.3., 1325.06, allowable area per front – 16 square feet, proposed area – 24.73 square feet for new sign, 6 sq ft for existing sign)

Appeal of W.J. Posavek, Jr. for a dimensional variance from the front yard setback to construct a single family detached dwelling on an existing non-conforming lot. (Articles 1305.03, 1318.01, Table A-1, 1325.06, Required – 30’, Proposed – 20’)

Appeal of Michele Kaplowitz for a special exception to operate a child day care center on the premises. (Articles 1311.02.c.3. 1325.07)

4. 2415 Easton Avenue
Appeal of SWA GAS INC. for a special exception to alter the existing lawful non-conforming convenience store having gas pumps with the installation of a new exhaust hood, grill and other appliances to introduce cooked, grilled and fried foods for retail (take out) sales on the property. (Articles 1323.04.c, 1325.07)

Appeal of George Adams for a special exception to occupy the property as a single family dwelling with psychic reading as a home occupation. (Article 1312.02.a.1. refers to 1306.02.c.4, 1302.39; 1325.07)

Appeal of Leo A. Oakchunas for a variance from the off-street parking requirements to convert an existing single family dwelling to a one residential/ one professional (chiropractic) office building. (Article 1311.04, 1319.01.a.28, 1325.06, required – 4 spaces, proposed – 2 (credit) spaces)
