Sun Safety Tips
- Avoid the sun between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00pm.
- Seek shade by staying under trees, umbrellas and canopies.
- Always wear a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher when outside
even on cloudy days.
- Wear sun glasses to protect your eyes.
Reducing Your Risk of Colorectal Cancer
Are You at Risk?
Increased risk:
- Age 50 or older
- personal history of colorectal cancer or polyps
- family history of colorectal cancer or polyps
- inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis; Crohn’s
disease)
- certain inherited cancer syndromes
- Personal or family history of ovarian, endometrial or
breast cancer
- Being of African American or Hispanic descent
Preventing Colorectal Cancer
- GET SCREENED!
- Early detection does make a difference in treating Colorectal
cancer.
- Eat a low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables & fiber
- Avoid smoking and limit alcoholic beverages
- Exercise regularly
- Get enough folic acid
