Sun Safety Tips

  • Avoid the sun between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00pm.
  • Seek shade by staying under trees, umbrellas and canopies.
  • Always wear a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher when outside even on cloudy days.
  • Wear sun glasses to protect your eyes.

Reducing Your Risk of Colorectal Cancer

Are You at Risk?

Increased risk:

  • Age 50 or older
  • personal history of colorectal cancer or polyps
  • family history of colorectal cancer or polyps
  • inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis; Crohn’s disease)
  • certain inherited cancer syndromes
  • Personal or family history of ovarian, endometrial or breast cancer
  • Being of African American or Hispanic descent

Preventing Colorectal Cancer

  • GET SCREENED!
  • Early detection does make a difference in treating Colorectal cancer.
  • Eat a low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables & fiber
  • Avoid smoking and limit alcoholic beverages
  • Exercise regularly
