the School Real Estate Tax bills to City residents and residents
of Bethlehem Township, Fountain Hill, Freemansburg and Hanover
Township. A 2% discount is granted to taxpayers who pay their
bills on of before August 31, 2010. The base tax is due from
September 1, 2010 to November 1, 2010. After November 1, 2010,
a 10% penalty is in effect. Last day of school tax
collection is December 30, 2010. Payments postmarked after
December 30, 2010 will be returned to the taxpayer.
A 4-installment payment plan is also available with installments
due by August 9, 2010, September 20, 2010, November 1, 2010
and December 13, 2010. Installment payments may not
commence after the first installment due date. All other installment
payments are due by their due date. A five day grace period
IS NOT ALLOWED.
Residents whose taxes are paid by a Mortgage Company or bank
should forward the bills to the institution as soon as possible.
Any property owners not receiving a bill should contact the
Financial Services Department at (610) 865-7125.
Please note that Pennsylvania tax collection laws state that
taxpayers are not relieved from the payment of real estate
taxes for failure to receive a tax bill.
Please remember that December 30, 2010 is the last
day that school tax payments will be accepted.
