Citizens' Traffic Safety Committee


505.01 Establishment.

505.01 ESTABLISHMENT.

(a) There is established a Citizens' Traffic Safety Committee to consist of not more than twenty citizens of the City, who shall serve without compensation. Committee members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council to serve on the Committee during terms of membership not to exceed four consecutive years in length.

(b) Terms shall be staggered to ensure appointment of five members annually. Appointments of members to vacancies occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be for the unexpired period, and shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment. (Ord. 2623 §3. Passed 10/3/78.)

505.02 DUTIES.

It shall be the duty of the Citizens' Traffic Safety Committee to create public support for the Traffic Division and to recommend ways and means of coordinating traffic activities. (Ord. 1769 §3. Passed 11/13/62)
