109.01 POWERS AND DUTIES.

The City Treasurer shall carry out such duties and exercise such powers with respect to the receipt and disbursement of public monies as are provided by general law and, in addition thereto, shall receive for deposit from the departments of the City government all City monies collected by such departments.

The City Treasurer may by written agreement with the Department of Administration of the City of Bethlehem, delegate and assign any and all duties and powers of the City Treasurer, as permitted by law. (Ord. 3493 - Passed 10/6/92.)

109.02 DISBURSEMENT OF CITY FUNDS.

The City Treasurer shall disburse all City funds in accordance with warrants presented to him therefor and duly signed by the City Controller and the head of the City department or office requesting such disbursement.

109.03 BOND AND INSURANCE.

The City Treasurer shall furnish such fidelity bond and insurance as is required by general law. The fidelity bond shall be in the amount of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) or shall be included in the blanket bond covering all City officers and employees. The Treasurer shall furnish insurance protection in the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) against the loss of funds through fire, burglary, larceny, theft, robbery or forgery. (NOTE: The City Treasurer was made a part time position beginning in 1992, at a salary of $1,000 annually plus benefits, as a result of a Committee of the Whole Meeting with Members of Council and the Administration on February 5, 1991. See Ordinance No. 3405, passed 3/19/91.)
