Jim Delgrosso became mayor of Bethlehem, the seventh largest
city in Pennsylvania, in 2003 after a vacancy was created
by the resignation of Mayor Don Cunningham.
Before becoming mayor on March 12, 2003, Delgrosso served
as a member of Bethlehem City Council since 1982, President
of Bethlehem City Council from 1996-1997; 1990-1993; and Chairman
of Council’s Finance Committee for 12 years. He previously
taught drivers’ education at Liberty High School from
1965 to 2003.
A lifelong resident of Bethlehem, Delgrosso graduated from
Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in education.
He completed his graduate studies at Penn State and Temple
Universities.
Jim has served on the board of directors of the Bethlehem
Economic Development Corporation, Historic Bethlehem Partnership
and the Bethlehem Area Public Library and is a long-standing
member of the Bethlehem Education Association and the Pennsylvania
Education Association.
He and his wife, Debbie, have two children and reside in
Northeast Bethlehem.
