Bob Donchez is a retired educator who taught American Government for thirty-five years at William Allen High School in the Allentown School District. Presently Bob is the Mayor for the City of Bethlehem.
He served on the Mayor’s task force on community policing. He has served as Chairman of Council’s Public Safety, Finance, and Community and Economic Development Committees. He has also served on the Executive Board of the Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation, Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation Board, Bethlehem Area Public Library Board, South Bethlehem Neighborhood Center Board, Bethlehem/Murska Sobota Sister Cities Association Board, City of Bethlehem’s Recreation Commission, Tourism Authority Board, City’s Zoning Hearing Board, Northampton County’s Election Commission, and Northampton County’s Drug and Alcohol Commission.
Bob is a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where he serves as a lector, usher and is a member of the Church Finance Committee. He is the son of the late Irene Mayer Donchez and the late City Detective John J. Donchez. He is married to Jayne A. Miller Donchez and is the father of two children, Robert and Kristen.
