CITIZENS’ ACADEMY
The
City of Bethlehem is proud to extend to its residents an invitation
to attend the CITIZENS’ ACADEMY.
The CITIZENS’ ACADEMY offers City residents
who are interested in becoming more involved in local government
and its activities, the opportunity to learn about what city
government does, and offers direct insight to the various
city operations.
The program seeks to increase transparency
in the way the City operates, while at the same time, begin
to develop closer relationships between the City of Bethlehem
residents and City Hall, through mutual understanding and
cooperation.
Together we can expand the city’s volunteer
capacity to build a new generation of leaders in Bethlehem.
Participants enrolled in the Citizens’
Academy will attend one, two-hour session per week, for 11
weeks. During each session, participants will view in-depth
presentations and demonstrations of the inner workings of
local government. Classes for the 2013 session will begin
on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 and presentations will take place
at various working locations within the City. The program
is limited to 25-persons per session.
